Job summary

Roadway Construction, LLC is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher to lead final sub-grade prep and form construction for curb and gutter, sidewalks, aprons, slabs and walls. Candidates should be precise, able to meet budget and schedule, and maintain client and subcontractor relationships.

The ideal applicant has at least 3 years of concrete finishing experience, is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working with English and Spanish where needed. On-the-job training is available.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3-year experience as a Concrete Finisher.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction principles and procedures.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Fluent in English; Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Spread, level, and smooth concrete using rake, trowel, screed, and float.
• Monitor how wind, heat, or cold affect the concrete throughout the process.
• Produce final finishes per job requirements using brooms or groove rakes.
• Mold expansion joints and edges with edging tools, jointers and straightedge.
• Coordinate resources to maximize efficiency and maintain quality, schedule and cost targets.

Job description

Roadway Construction, LLCis looking for an experienced Concrete Finisher . An experienced concrete finisher directs and performs final sub-grade preparation and form construction for concrete placement on curb and gutters, sidewalks, aprons, slabs and walls. A finisher must be able to level, finish, cure, saw cut, groove, broom or rake finishes, and grind fresh concrete and similar materials according to specifications and drawings. Removes forms, loads and unloads equipment, tools and materials, and generally performs duties as required to satisfy the overall purpose of the job.. We want to fill this position with someone who takes ownership of their projects, is comfortable making timely decisions, is great with maintaining client and subcontractor relationships, and can work as a team player. Must have the preciseness to upkeep the budget, quality and the timely completion of projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must have knowledge of proper cross slopes and acceptable tolerances of all sidewalks, ADA ramps, curbs, driveways, and other concrete structures.
• Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
• Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the various stages of the concrete throughout the entire process.
• Produce various final finishes on concrete surfaces based of job specific requirements, using rough/fine brooms or special groove rakes.
• Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
• Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete and move chute to direct concrete on forms.
• Apply sealing compounds to cure surfaces on concrete.
• Operate power vibrator. Maintain detailed and organized construction documents.
• Plan and coordinate the resources required in each project in order to maximize efficiency.
• Ensure quality, conformance, schedule attainment and cost control are being met.
• Maintain project logbooks.

Job Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of 3-year experience as a Concrete Finisher
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction principles and procedures.
• Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks; Possess a meticulous attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong ability to anticipate, recognize and respond to adverse situations.
• Must be available to work flexible hours.
• Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred.
