Job summary

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Concrete Finisher to level and finish freshly poured concrete, set forms, and assist with curing operations.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of concrete finishing experience, can work day or night shifts, and perform physically demanding tasks. Florida driver's license is preferred; a drug test and background check may be required. EOE/AA, DFWP.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a concrete finisher.
• Skilled in smoothing and finishing freshly placed concrete.
• Able to perform heavy lifting and long shifts.
• Able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed.
• Florida driver’s license preferred.
• Drug testing and background check may be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Operates a screed to level concrete per grade and depth specifications.
• Smooths concrete surface with hand trowel, bull float, or riding trowel machines.
• Cuts joints/grooves with edging tools and saw-cuts for decorative or crack-control purposes.
• Applies hardening/sealing components to cure surfaces.
• Monitors curing conditions with regard to wind, heat, and cold.
• Sets and places forms, prepares base, and installs reinforcement.
• Installs anchor bolts and fixtures; patterns or stamps surface for decorative finish.

Job description

CONCRETE FINISHER

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is a growing road construction company. We are seeking to fill a Concrete Finisher position for our local operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates a screed to level freshly placed concrete according to grade and depth specification
• Smooth concrete surface using either a hand trowel, long-handled "bull float" powered float, and/or riding trowel machines
• Cut joints/grooves in concrete with edging tools to help control cracking, as well as the layout and saw-cut joints with an early entry saw.
• Apply to harden and seal components to cure surfaces
• Monitor the wind, heat, and cold as it affects the curing of concrete
• Set and place forms to proper elevations and locations, prepare the base, and install proper reinforcement
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures into freshly poured concrete and/or pattern or stamp the surface to provide a decorative finish

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a concrete finisher required
• Must be skilled in smoothing, finishing freshly placed concrete, applying surface treatments, and restoring concrete surfaces.
• Required to perform tasks that include heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
• Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently
• A valid Florida driver's license preferred
