Job summary

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. is seeking a Concrete Finisher for its Pensacola, FL operations to level, finish, and seal concrete surfaces on local projects.

Responsibilities include operating screeds and trowels, cutting joints, curing surfaces, and ensuring accurate forms and reinforcement placement. Must be able to work varied shifts and pass standard pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a concrete finisher.
• Skilled in smoothing and finishing freshly placed concrete.
• Experience applying surface treatments and restoring concrete surfaces.
• Able to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as part of the job.
• Capable of completing required paperwork efficiently; drug testing and background check may be required.
• Ability to work days, nights, or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Smooth concrete surface using hand trowel, bull float, or riding trowel machines.
• Cut joints/grooves with edging tools and saw-cut joints for cracking control and decorative finishing.
• Apply curing compounds and seal surfaces.
• Monitor environmental conditions affecting curing (wind, heat, cold).
• Set and place forms, prepare base, and install reinforcement.

Job description

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is a growing road construction company. We are seeking to fill a Concrete Finisher position for our local operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates a screed to level freshly placed concrete according to grade and depth specification
• Smooth concrete surface using either a hand trowel, long-handled “bull float” powered float, and/or riding trowel machines
• Cut joints/grooves in concrete with edging tools to help control cracking, as well as the layout and saw-cut joints with an early entry saw.
• Apply to harden and seal components to cure surfaces
• Monitor the wind, heat, and cold as it affects the curing of concrete
• Set and place forms to proper elevations and locations, prepare the base, and install proper reinforcement
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures into freshly poured concrete and/or pattern or stamp the surface to provide a decorative finish

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a concrete finisher required
• Must be skilled in smoothing, finishing freshly placed concrete, applying surface treatments, and restoring concrete surfaces.
• Required to perform tasks that include heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
• Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently
• Employer conducts drug testing and background check
