Job summary

Anchor Construction Corporation is seeking an experienced concrete finisher to operate troweling machinery and finish textures for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other heavy civil projects.

You will read foreman instructions, align forms, and maintain a safe outdoor work environment in variable weather. Travel to Anchor's yard sites and teamwork with crews are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years in construction preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to yard sites.
• Able to follow English instructions.
• Able to operate basic tools.
• Outdoor work in variable weather; overtime required.
• Spanish fluency a plus.

Responsibilities

• Place, finish, and cure concrete for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, highways, bridges, etc.
• Use troweling machinery and other texturing tools for finishing and shaping concrete
• Align forms for sidewalks, curbs and gutters
• Report problems and safety hazards to foreman or Safety Officer
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Job description

Operate troweling machinery and other texturing tools for finishing and shaping the concrete including sidewalk, curb and gutter, etc. Also, have a good understanding of concrete characteristics and the effects of weather on the curing of the concrete once laid and smoothed. Take orders from foreman and crew leader.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Place, finish, and cure concrete for heavy civil construction projects including sidewalks, curbs, gutters, highways, bridges, etc.


• Use troweling machinery and other texturing tools for finishing and shaping concrete


• Align forms for sidewalks, curbs and gutters


• Report any problems and/or safety hazards to your foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Officer


• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA, State regulations, and all safety policies and procedures


• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED preferred


• 2+ years of construction industry experience preferred


• Ability to travel to Anchor's main Yard sites required


• Ability to follow basic instructions in English required


• Ability to use basic tools required


• Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures required


• Ability to work overtime as needed required


• Comfort working in an outdoors high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations required


• Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team


• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle preferred


• Spanish fluency a plus

Physical Demands:

Heavy

Expected to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting/carrying objects Lifting and lowering ramps multiple times daily.

Work Environment:

Moderate

Occasionally exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise fumes, dust, etc.)

Exposed to the outdoor elements (cold, heat, rain, snow, etc.)

Noise level is loud

Pay Range:

$23 - $28 per hour
