HRCP invites applications for a Concrete Finisher on the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion project in Norfolk, VA. The role ensures poured concrete surfaces are finished, leveled, and textured to project specs, supporting durable, high-quality structures for construction efforts.

The position requires strong QA knowledge in concrete processes, proven communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure on a full-time, on-site basis.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality control within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of precast concrete manufacturing processes, quality control techniques, and ASTM/ACI.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

The Concrete Finisher is tasked with ensuring that poured concrete surfaces are properly finished, leveled, and textured according to project specifications and quality standards. They play a crucial role in achieving durable, visually appealing concrete structures essential for various construction projects.

Job Duties
  • Leveling the top surface of freshly poured concrete
  • Operating a power vibrator to compress concreate
  • Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete
  • Installing anchor bolts, steel plates and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete
