Job summary

Clark Construction in McLean, VA seeks an Estimator (Concrete) to support design-bid-build and design-build projects. You will analyze drawings and specifications to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates, and coordinate with subcontractors to develop complete scopes and strategies.

The role emphasizes accuracy, risk management, and collaboration with teams to win profitable work, with a work environment on active construction sites and in office settings.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related degree preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of related experience preferably as a commercial construction estimator.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Familiar with both conceptual and self-perform estimating.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Perform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects including scope determinations and accurate quantity survey.
• Solicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope.
• Lead meetings with Subcontractors to develop complete scopes and discuss strategy.
• Perform risk and contract management on bids and RFQs/RFPs.
• Assist in developing minority participation requirements.
• Review total estimate for accuracy and completeness prior to quotation.
