Job summary

RIMEPRO INC. seeks an experienced Concrete Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates for structural concrete construction projects in the San Jose area.

You will perform quantity takeoffs, labor and material cost analyses, and coordinate with subcontractors to build competitive bids. Ideal candidates have strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, proficiency with estimating software, and experience in value engineering.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction estimating experience, including exposure to structural concrete.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in civil/structural field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural concrete scopes of work.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
• Evaluate project risks, scope gaps, and potential cost impacts.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
• Prepare competitive proposals, bid packages, and cost breakdowns.
• Manage bid lists and coordinate pricing with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Review subcontractor proposals, submittals, and scope requirements.
• Assist with subcontractor buyout and procurement activities.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams on construction sequencing and phasing.
• Participate in project meetings, client discussions, and estimating reviews.
• Maintain accurate estimating records, quantities, and project cost information.
• Ensure estimates align with project quality, safety, and scheduling requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners.
• Stay current with construction pricing, estimating software, and industry practices.

Position Overview

Required Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of structural concrete construction methods, materials, and estimating practices.

• Experience performing quantity takeoffs, labor calculations, and detailed cost estimates.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and construction drawings and specifications.

• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

• Ability to visualize construction details in both 2D and 3D.

• Experience evaluating project risks and identifying scope gaps.

• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet bid deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.

• Experience estimating structural concrete scopes for commercial, multifamily, or other large construction projects.

• Experience with subcontractor bid leveling, procurement, and buyout.

• Knowledge of value engineering, construction phasing, and project budgeting.

• Familiarity with concrete construction sequencing and field operations.
