Job summary

Penhall Company is hiring a Concrete Cutting Trainee in Columbus, OH. You will support experienced operators in core drilling, cutting, sawing, and concrete removal, while gaining hands-on training.

This entry-level role is designed for individuals seeking a long-term career in skilled trades and offers structured training and growth opportunities. We train you on operating and maintaining a range of equipment, such as diamond blades, saws, drills, and jackhammers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2) Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with clean driving record.
• 3) Experience in labor roles, preferably in construction or demolition.
• 4) Familiarity with wall saws, core drills, flat saws, hand saws, ring saws, and/or compressor tools such as jackhammers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cutting, sawing, lifting, and core drilling of concrete under supervision.
• Operate and maintain company equipment, including vehicles, tools of the job such as: diamond blades, flat saws, core drills, wall saws, jackhammers, etc.
• Ensure regular inspection, basic maintenance, security, and cleanliness of all company equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Support the setup and breakdown of job sites, ensuring proper equipment organization and readiness.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project success.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
