Job summary

Bechtel is constructing a semiconductor-related batching facility in New Albany, Ohio. The Batch Plant STR provides the single point of contact for concrete supply, coordinating design, procurement, construction, and operation of the batching facility to ensure continuous delivery for around-the-clock placement.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in civil/construction engineering and 5–12 years of field experience in heavy civil construction, with emphasis on ready-mix operations.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the rolling concrete placement forecast and reconcile weekly with batch plant production and delivery capacity.
• Administer the subcontractor's electronic concrete request system with correct mix design, quantity, pour rate, and start time.
• Coordinate truck sequencing, cycle times, and haul routing to maintain continuous supply, including night and multi-shift pours.
• Confirm plant readiness before each placement (backup plant, mixer count, offsite backup facility when on-site plant is unavailable).
• Manage in-progress changes during a pour (rate reductions, hold points, weather delays) and communicate to plant and field engineer.
• Serve as day-to-day field interface with plant management and escalate issues to subcontract administration.
• Verify that electronic batch tickets and production records are issued for every load.
• Monitor stock levels of aggregate, cement, and admixtures and flag shortfalls.
