Saratoga Springs-based Teakwood Builders, Inc. is an award-winning custom builder and remodeler, recognized for work on some of the area’s most notable homes. Acclaimed for superior customer service, a collaborative design-build approach, and the unsurpassed skill of our dedicated team, we now also provide home maintenance and repair services. We seek a skilled and versatile Carpenter to support our growing Concierge Services division.

Overview

As a Concierge Services Carpenter, enjoy variety and independence. Perform work on your own or in small teams, completing projects within a few days to a week. This position is ideal for the self-directed worker who likes a range of residential repair projects, including:

• Home repairs: Fixing minor plumbing issues, repairing drywall, patching leaks, or addressing electrical problems
• Maintenance work: Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, lubricating hinges, or inspecting and cleaning gutters
• Carpentry: Building or repairing furniture, installing shelves, or fixing wooden structures
• Painting: Painting walls, ceilings, or exterior surfaces
• Assembly: Assembling furniture, appliances, or other items that come in a kit
• Installation: Installing fixtures, such as ceiling fans, light fixtures, or window blinds
• Odd jobs: Tackling miscellaneous tasks that may not fit into a specific category

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years full-time residential construction experience or property maintenance/repairs
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate’s degree preferred
• Proficient in all phases of construction, including light electrical and plumbing repairs
• Strong painting skills a plus
• Detail-oriented and diligent, with the manual dexterity, strength, and stamina to perform required work
• Self-sufficient and self-motivated
• Professional, courteous, and customer service-oriented
• Excellent math and problem-solving skills
• Effective use of a variety of hand and power tools (provide your own)
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Valid NYS driver’s license and ability to travel to jobs throughout the Greater Capital Region and Lower Adirondacks

Responsibilities

• Planning and preparing for assigned projects, including establishing schedule, obtaining needed materials, reading assigned work scope
• Ensuring production and quality control, completing projects thoroughly, accurately, timely, and to the client’s satisfaction
• Communicating with Concierge Services Coordinator, Project Manager, and clients as needed to assess and resolve project challenges
• Working safely on projects in compliance with industry standards and company policies
