Concierge | Hospitality Assistant | Job Decription

Purpose: To provide a welcoming, inviting, and friendly environment for residents and guests of the community. To provide excellent customer service and hospitality service in the dining room, café, and common areas in an efficient and professional manner according to Community standards.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within specified timeframe after hire.
  • 1 year of professional driving experience in the operation of a bus or van used for transporting of clients.
  • Previous experience working with seniors in a senior living environment preferred.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and desire to exceed customer expectations.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • CNA, or previous experience working with the elderly in a residential or long‑term care setting preferred.
  • Must maintain current CPR/First Aid credentials.
  • Must maintain current Food Handlers credentials.
  • Must maintain annual Continuing Education Credits.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Word and Excel preferred.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, guests, and other team members.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to re‑prioritize daily tasks, in order to accommodate fluctuating needs of the residents and the community.
  • Ability to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must meet all health‑related requirements pertaining to State licensure.
  • Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Subject to pre‑employment screening including physical, drug and TB testing and criminal clearance.
Essential Functions:
Resident Activities / Life Engagement
  • Set up for morning exercise classes.
  • Assist Activities Department with setting/re‑setting/cleaning up activity areas.
  • Ensure Activity Areas are neat, clean, dusted and vacuumed as well as mopped.
  • Assists in the implementation of scheduled resident activities as assigned by the Life Enhancement Director.
  • Assists in maintaining activity area and supplies in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Ensures that all resident activities, outings, and events occur according to schedule in the absence of the Life Enhancement Director.
  • Participates in the preparation, set‑up, implementation and clean‑up of Community events and programs.
  • Assists Life Enhancement Director with other projects and duties as requested.
Driving
  • Responsible for transporting residents to and from appointments, scheduled Community outings, and special events, in Community vehicles, according to transportation schedule.
  • Responsible for assisting residents in and out of vehicles as needed, including loading and unloading wheelchairs, walkers, and other assist devices.
  • Maintains Community vehicles in clean and orderly condition including washing, refueling, and inspecting and reporting any mechanical defects or malfunctions.
  • Completes a thorough vehicle inspection check prior to vehicle operation, reporting all discrepancies and scheduling appropriate repairs.
  • Reports any resident incidents or physical or behavioral concerns that occur during transport to appropriate Director immediately upon return.
  • Completes transportation activity records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Responsible for all annual vehicle inspections and safety checks to ensure the vehicle meets operational standards.
Dining
  • Greet residents and guests in dining room, help residents and guests to tables. Assist new residents in finding an appropriate table, offer to take walkers etc. Offer coffee, water, tea and take beverage orders.
  • Bus tables, clear and reset tables (wiping down tables, chairs, cleaning up spills on floor etc.).
  • Fold napkins and prep table settings (utensils).
  • Ensure water and coffee are well filled and condiments are stocked in café/bistro area.
  • Weekly stocking of ice cream and spoons in café/bistro area.
Housekeeping
  • Ensure that living room, front lobby, main front entrance, dining room entry doors are clean, dusted, wiped with appropriate cleaners, and vacuumed.
  • Use of appropriate safety precautions (wet floor signs), use of appropriate cleaning materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Other
  • Attends all required team member meetings and in‑service training sessions.
  • Upholds Residents’ Rights as defined by state regulations and by Company policy, at all times.
  • Supports and upholds all other Company policies, and the service philosophy.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Starting Salary Range $23.50 - $25.00 per hour
