Legends Global at Mohegan Arena @ Casey Plaza is seeking a Line Cook to support the Food & Beverage team for suites, catering, and concessions.

The successful candidate will prepare items per event orders, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and assist in banquet preparations while adapting to a fast-paced arena environment. Part-time, non-exempt position with flexible hours based on events.

Qualifications

• Must possess previous experience in a sporting venue or banquet facility preparing meals for large events
• Must possess the knowledge of proper food handling and preparation procedures
• Must possess the ability to be creative with buffet food presentations and produce a quality product while paying strict attention to detail
• Must possess the ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
• Must possess the ability to stand and walk for substantial periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds
• Must possess the ability to work hours as dictated by events
• Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, work as a team, and have reliable transportation
• Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
• Must practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training
• Must pass a HireRight Background Check in accordance with company policy

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for preparing food items for all suite orders, catering functions, and possibly some concession items.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fulfill the service per each suite order and Banquet Event Orders (BEO)
• Maintain all kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance
• Show creativity in designing food presentations
• Prepare all recipes as directed
• Must take direction well
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all proper food handling and preparation guidelines as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

WORK CONTACTS:

Daily contact with the Executive Chef, Premium Services Manager, Catering Staff, and other Arena employees

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in the supervision of temporary labor staff when applicable

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

This position requires stooping, lifting, and substantial standing and walking. Must be able to lift 30 lbs to the shoulder.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works primarily in the main kitchen and possibly in the concession stands within the facility
