The Bartender is responsible for service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. They must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever changing fast-paced environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

This role pays an hourly wage of $9 to $11, plus tips.

PPL Center is a state-of-the-art multipurpose arena in downtown Allentown, PA, and home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The arena seats more than 10,000 for concerts and more than 8,500 for Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey games. It hosts over 150 events annually, including concerts, family shows, trade shows, youth sports, and more.

Responsibilities include:

1. Meeting guest service, interaction, and uniform standards.
2. Maintaining personal appearance and hygiene.
3. Greeting guests respectfully and enhancing their experience.
4. Handling cash register transactions accurately.
5. Following bar pre-shift notes and menus.
6. Serving alcoholic beverages following all regulations.
7. Learning about various beverages and upselling.
8. Pouring drinks responsibly and checking IDs.
9. Recognizing and managing intoxicated guests.
10. Responding to customer requests and concerns.
11. De-escalating intoxicated guest situations.
12. Restocking and maintaining a clean work station.
13. Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Must be 18 or over.
• Six months or more bartending experience.
• Previous cash handling preferred.
• Ability to learn cash handling and operate registers.
• Valid food handling and RAMP certifications or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
