Job summary

Live Nation Entertainment seeks a Venue Security team member to maintain safety for staff, artists, vendors, and guests during concerts and events at Citizens House of Blues Boston, across the music hall, Foundation Room, and Restaurant space.

The role requires conducting guest checks with metal detectors, age-ID verification for under-30s, de-escalation and crowd control, clear radio communication, and post-event rounds.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a security field.
• Ability to work late nights, weekends, and occasional mornings.
• Professional appearance and conduct.
• Ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within policy and procedures.
• Extended periods of standing and being on your feet.
• Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs with proper technique.
• Fast-paced, loud and sometimes stressful environment.
• Occasional outdoor work in seasonal weather.
• Respect diverse venues and cultures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct checks of guests and belongings with metal detectors and pat downs to prevent entry of prohibited items.
• Identify guests under 30 years old drinking alcohol and check IDs.
• Identify improper behavior and alert management.
• Communicate clearly via radios, hand signals and flashlights; stay in contact throughout shift.
• Support staff in handling disorderly conduct or altercations.
• Assist with crowd control to maintain flow and prevent crowding.
• De-escalate and assist with removal of guests when required.
• Set up and break down stanchions, bike racks, and detectors.
• Guard against theft and property damage.
• Assist patrons over barricades during events.
• Evacuate guests during building emergencies under management direction.
• Carry out post-event rounds to ensure all guests have cleared the venue.
