Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design, concept development, and functional prototyping.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling.
• Experience developing functional prototypes integrating mechanical, electrical, and software components.
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototype fabrication methods.
• Proficiency with embedded electronics and controls (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensors, motors).
• Experience using test/measurement equipment for product performance evaluation.
• Knowledge of user-centered design methodologies including research and usability testing.

Come join the team at Techtronic Industries, the world leader in cordless technology spanning Power Tools, Outdoor Power Equipment, Floor Care Appliances and Accessories. We currently have an open Engineering position in the Advanced Concepts group at our Anderson, SC office.

Advanced Concepts is an interdisciplinary innovation group of designers and engineers within the Power Tool division, tasked with developing cutting-edge concepts for brands such as RYOBI and RIDGID. You will work hand and hand with other Advanced Concepts team members, as well as engineering, industrial design, analytical, and project management groups to deliver functional prototypes that can be evaluated for feasibility or concept recommendations that can be used for later product development. Your day-to-day activities will include: brainstorms, designing and building prototypes, feasibility testing, and concept refinement. We are a very hands-on group that thrives on learning throughout our diverse projects to create new and innovative products.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ideate and create prototypes that demonstrate future solutions for future product needs.

• Proficiency with embedded electronics and controls, including platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensors, motors, and related hardware integration.

• Experience using test and measurement equipment to evaluate product performance, including vibration, sound, environmental, and durability testing.

• Knowledge and application of user-centered design methodologies, including customer research, observational studies, usability testing, and iterative concept refinement.
