Job summary

J.Crew Factory in New York, NY is seeking an Associate Designer for Women’s & Kids Concept & Color. You will support color direction, trend research, and the development of color stories and concept decks for seasonal products.

You’ll translate inspiration into polished visuals, maintain color accuracy, and collaborate with design, merchandising, and production partners to meet seasonal deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in color, concept, graphic, or design support within fashion, apparel, or related creative field.
• Proficiency in Miro and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Understanding of PLM system.
• Working knowledge of color theory and color systems such as Pantone.
• Strong visual eye and ability to translate research into clear presentations.
• Highly detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and seasonal deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support seasonal color stories and concepts for Women’s and Kids divisions.
• Assist in building and pitching concepts and color stories for design, merchandising, and production partners.
• Create and refine concept decks and visuals in Miro and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Develop color palettes, boards, and color library across seasons and divisions.
• Match colors to standards and vendor submissions using Pantone and CSI standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to meet color requests and timelines.
• Guide and delegate tasks to the Color Librarian Assistant and manage color library maintenance.
