Public Speaking Instructor, Non‑Tenure Track (Applicant Pool)

The University Studies Program seeks instructors to teach COMX 111US – Introduction to Public Speaking. The position is part‑time, varying by departmental needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach the on‑campus course COMX 111US – Intro to Public Speaking: one weekly lecture (≈2 hours) and multiple recitation sections (≈1 hour each).
• Deliver content focusing on communication theories, public‑speaking strategies, and modeling effective speaking.
• Provide practical applications and student speeches in recitation.
• Commit to supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

• Degree in Communications or related field.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

• Experience teaching at the college or university level.
• Experience teaching public speaking.
• Working knowledge of technical presentation formats.
