Job summary

SAIC Office of Security seeks an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support San Diego facility operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and coordination with DoD/Federal requirements. Responsibilities include managing facility clearance, visitor access, and security programs across multiple sites.

Additionally, the role covers COMSEC management, encryption device oversight, and liaison with security teams to maintain robust security practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience; master’s degree with 4+ years experience allowed in lieu of degree.
• Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain SCI.
• DCSA FSO certification (current curriculum) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Experience designing and executing security programs per 32 CFR Part 117/NISPOM.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Assistant Facility Security Officer for assigned facilities/programs/customers.
• Coordinate with DCSA and other Cognizant Security Agencies on inspections and violations.
• Maintain facility clearance and related cage code; oversee site security technologies.
• Collaborate with security leadership on issues and process improvements.
• Review COMSEC materials management and encryption devices; ensure regulatory compliance.
