Qualifications

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Computing Systems Professional to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

  • Performs research and development to identify and implement applicable emerging technologies in the Laboratory computing environment.
  • Utilizes formal project management methodologies; gathers customer requirements; performs risk management functions; performs capacity and availability planning for computing infrastructure; performs effective communication both, verbal and written, at all levels.
  • Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives.
  • Works under limited direction; receives general instructions on new assignments.
  • Works to completion to ensure objectives have been met.

Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
  • Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
  • Provides advanced technical support services; designs, specifies, and develops solutions for complex heterogeneous computing infrastructure.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Determines approach to solutions, plans schedule and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.

About the Site

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov).
