Job summary

The University System of Maryland seeks a Professional Development Specialist to lead statewide teacher professional learning in computing education. You will design, deliver, and evaluate workshops and support LMS administration to enable high-quality professional learning across K-12 and higher education.

This 1-year contract, with potential renewal, requires a Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience, plus CEU/CPD alignment and collaboration with state partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, STEM, Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in education, computer science education, STEM education, instructional design, or related P-20 fields.
• Experience designing, facilitating, and/or supporting in-person and online professional development for educators or adult learners.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or implementation support to K-12 educators.
• Experience coordinating programs, events, or professional learning activities, including scheduling, registration, participant communication, and logistical support.

Responsibilities

• Designs, facilitates, and evaluates in-person and online professional development workshops, curriculum institutes, and professional learning communities for K-12 and higher education educators.
• Collaborates with state department on CS education standards development and revision.
• Delivers training on computing pedagogy, curriculum integration, equity strategies, and educational technologies.
• Provides coaching and mentoring to participating teachers to support instructional improvement.
