Job summary

Arete Associates in Falls Church, VA, seeks a Computer Vision Scientist to develop algorithms and datasets for image processing, 3D reconstruction, and scene understanding. You will adapt libraries or build new methods, evaluate performance, and deliver high-quality visualizations and briefs.

The role requires a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, a technical PhD/MS/BS, and strong Python/image processing skills.

Qualifications

Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
BS, MS or Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
Proficient in Python and numerical/image processing packages.
Familiarity with modern computer vision algorithms and frameworks.
Research experience in image processing or sensor data.
Ability to learn new tools and software quickly.

Responsibilities

Develop algorithms, datasets, and workflows for image processing, object detection, classification, 3D reconstruction, and scene understanding.
Adapt existing libraries or implement new algorithms to process and visualize imagery data.
Evaluate algorithm performance, develop metrics, and quantify strengths/weaknesses.
Work with current Python codebases and implement features for algorithm improvement.
Prototype emerging CV algorithms and assess performance on customer applications.
Prepare presentation-worthy graphics and technical briefings with strong visualization and writing.
