BCforward is seeking a highly motivated Computer Vision Engineer to join onsite in Sunnyvale, CA. BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Computer Vision Engineer for an onsite opportunity at Sunnyvale, CA

Position Title: Computer Vision Engineer

Location: Onsite, Sunnyvale, CA

Anticipated Start Date:

Job Type: Onsite

Pay Range: $75/hr.- $80/hr.

Job Summary:

• We are looking for a Simulation CV/ML Engineer to develop and improve camera and sensor simulation pipelines used to generate synthetic datasets for computer vision and machine learning applications.
• You will work closely with camera architects, ML engineers, and imaging teams to configure simulation environments, generate high-quality training and evaluation datasets, run ML training and evaluation workflows, and use model performance results to continuously improve dataset composition.

What You’ll Do

• Configure simulation scenes, camera parameters, and sensor characteristics based on technical requirements.
• Generate and deliver training and evaluation datasets to camera architecture and ML teams.
• Run ML training and evaluation workflows, preferably using PyTorch.
• Analyze model metrics and use the results to improve dataset composition and quality.
• Validate and quality-check generated synthetic data before delivery.
• Develop and maintain dataset-generation scripts and simulation tooling.
• Work with large-scale datasets, including data generation, storage, organization, and versioning.
• Collaborate with computer vision, ML, camera, sensor, and hardware teams.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably involving ML infrastructure or ML systems.
• 5+ years of Python and C++ development experience.
• Strong understanding of camera and sensor simulation fundamentals, including:
• Camera intrinsic/extrinsic parameters
• Sensor modeling
• Quantum efficiency
• Read noise and shot noise
• Image formation
• Basic ISP concepts
• Experience running machine learning training and evaluation workflows; PyTorch is preferred.
• Ability to interpret ML evaluation metrics and translate findings into dataset improvements.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets and data versioning.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments and Git/source control.
• Experience building ML models and computer vision/ML pipelines.
• Understanding of how camera simulation systems work.
• Previous experience developing or working with AI/ML architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with rendering or simulation frameworks such as Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary/in-house simulation platforms.
• Background in optics or computational imaging, including radiometry, PSF, and MTF.
• Experience with camera/ISP tuning.
• Experience developing computer vision or perception models.
• Experience with synthetic data generation for computer vision or imaging applications.

Ideal Candidate

• The ideal candidate combines strong Python/C++ software engineering skills with computer vision, camera/sensor knowledge, and ML experience. Experience working with imaging systems, synthetic data, simulation environments, and optical systems is highly valuable.
