Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont maintains, prepares, and tests all computer related equipment for sale at a retail store and online. The role involves testing, diagnosing, refurbishing donated computers, and assisting customers with their computer shopping needs.

Starts at $17.10 per hour with annual merit increases and production bonuses; full-time team members are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a generous team member discount.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Computer Science or related field and one year's experience maintaining, configuring and restoring computers.

  • Provides testing, diagnosis, problem solving and prepares all donated computer equipment for sale by refurbishing parts and building computer systems.
  • Sorts computer donations and determines appropriateness for sales, refurbishing or recycling.
  • Researches market value of computer, game, and electronic equipment, prices computer hardware and software.
  • Maintains product flow to sales floor.
  • Ensures computer work area is neat and organized.
  • Answers questions from customers and assists customers with computer shopping needs.
  • Processes customer transactions by ringing the sale on a cash register, collecting payment, making change, bagging the merchandise and thanking the customer.
  • Reports known or suspected security and or theft problems to Store Manager or other member of management.

Position starts at $17.10 with annual merit increases and production bonuses. SUMMARY

Maintains, prepares, and tests all computer related (including laptop, tablet, and PC’s) for sale at a retail store and online sales by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides testing, diagnosis, problem solving and prepares all donated computer equipment for sale by refurbishing parts and building computer systems.

Sorts computer donations and determines appropriateness for sales, refurbishing or recycling.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Computer Science or related field and one years' experience maintaining, configuring and restoring computers; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
