Job summary

Wayne Central School District is seeking a Probationary IT Technician for a 12-month position to maintain hardware, peripherals, and networks. The role involves installing and configuring hardware and software per department requirements and keeping accurate equipment inventories.

You will diagnose and repair hardware, software, and network issues, design cabling plans for installations, and provide timely preventative maintenance. Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
• Associate degree in related field with 2+ years of paid experience in computer operations/technical support required.
• High school diploma with 4+ years of related experience required.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hardware and peripheral equipment including PCs, Macs, Apples, network hardware and cabling.

Requirements

• Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, micro-computer technology, computer information systems, information technology or related field or
• Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered two year college with an Associate’s degree in computer science, micro-computer technology, computer information systems, information technology, or related field and two (2) years of paid experience in computer operations, technical support or systems development, including installation and maintenance of computer software and hardware or
• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of above listed experience or
• An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of “A”, “B”, and “C” above.
