OUC – The Reliable One offers a Computer Specialist Intern role in the Digital & Technology division located in Orlando, FL. The intern will work with the Desktop & Client Operations team, handling local and remote desktop support, hardware deployment, OS upgrades, and IT infrastructure tasks.

The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in CS/IS&T with a 3.0+ GPA, has strong customer service and communication skills, and is authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.
• Academic status of Sophomore or above.
• Program of study: Computer Science, Information System & Technology (IS&T).
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above at application time.

Responsibilities

• Provide local and remote desktop support and resolve tickets.
• Deploy, re-image, repair, and upgrade hardware and OS.
• Troubleshoot network and wireless issues; support IT infrastructure.
• Assist with security tasks including virus/malware research; AD updates.
• Support positive client relationships with timely technical solutions.

OUC – The Reliable One, an industry leader and the second-largest municipal utility in Florida, is offering an internship program in the Digital & Technology division. The OUC Internship Program is dedicated to providing students with real-world, hands-on experience by partnering with energy leaders and experienced professionals, while bringing new and out-of-the-box perspectives and ideas that are essential for fostering the creativity and growth of any business. OUC’s internship program provides emerging talent with an immersive view of the utility industry through on-the-job training, educational sessions, self-paced learning courses, and individual or team projects.

We are looking for a Computer Specialist Intern. During this internship, you will partner with the Desktop & Client Operations team.

You will be involved in:

• Providing local and remote desktop support, responding to service requests, and resolving assigned tickets through applicable ticketing systems
• Deploying, re-imaging, repairing, and upgrading computer hardware, operating systems, and supporting server environments
• Troubleshooting network and wireless connectivity issues and assisting with general IT infrastructure support
• Assisting with security-related tasks, including virus/malware research, vulnerability reviews, account deactivation, and Active Directory updates
• Supporting positive client relationship management by delivering timely, effective technical solutions and performing other assigned duties

Internship Eligibility:

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
• Academic status of Sophomore or above.
• Program of study: Computer Science, Information System & Technology
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above at the time of application.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Previous internship experience preferred

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and IT equipment
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
• Familiarity with endpoint management tools and basic equipment salvage procedures
• Understanding of public safety and security concepts and best practices
• Experience with common software applications (Microsoft 365, Citrix, Remote Desktop, Visio)
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or FootPrints
• Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and proactive; able to work independently.
• Ability to prioritize and resolve issues under deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Proven ability to learn new skills quickly.

Compensation: $17.50 - $20 per hour, varies depending on the education level

Schedule: Part-Time (up to 40 hours per week) from January 11th, 2027 to May 7th,2027 following an On-Site Schedule
