Weber State University seeks a Computer Science Tutor for the Davis Learning Center in Ogden, UT. This pooled, drop-in position supports the Learning Support department; hours are 20 per week and pay $12.50 per hour.

Applicants must be WSU students, able to tutor at the Davis campus, and have earned a B or better in the courses they tutor. Training is provided, and duties focus on helping students with course material and study strategies.

Job Summary / Basic Function

TutorWSUstudents in Computer Science at the Davis Learning Center as part of the Learning Support department. Tutoring is done on a drop-in basis. Availability for drop-in shifts is determined by the tutor. We require and provide training in tutoring techniques. This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be a WSU student
  • Must be able to tutor at the Davis campus
  • Must have earned a B or better in the courses you propose to tutor.
  • A strong working knowledge of the subject matter you will be tutoring.
  • Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to tutor many different courses
