Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs is offering a Computer Science Engineering Internship in Rockport, Indiana. You will work with engineering and operations teams to develop software tools for manufacturing and automation, and gain experience in HMI projects, testing, and process improvements.

The program targets students pursuing a BS in Computer Engineering or Software Engineering, with sophomore year completion by 2027, and requires U.S. work authorization.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in Bachelor of Science program in the field of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related technical degree
• Completion of sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance software tools that support manufacturing and automation processes.
• Maintain, organize, and improve existing code libraries and applications.
• Assist with HMI development, upgrades, and rebuild projects.
• Support automation and process control initiatives through programming and system integration activities.
• Create and update technical procedures, work instructions, and supporting documentation.
• Participate in troubleshooting, testing, and validation of software and automation systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Document project results and provide recommendations for future enhancements.
• Other duties as assigned.
