Job summary

Hachette Book Group is seeking a Print Operator to operate industrial printers, print labels and packing lists, and ensure data integrity in a production environment. The role includes printer maintenance, loading printers, and occasionally covering for the main computer operator.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of Computer/Print Operator experience, can lift 10 lbs repeatedly, and demonstrates excellent attendance and work ethic.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial OCE printers to print labels and packing lists and decollating materials.

• May fill-in for the main computer operator as needed.
• Complete any remaining duties from the first shift.

Job description

SUMMARY: Candidate will be responsible for operating computerized systems and printing labels and packing lists. Must maintain data integrity following strict guidelines and procedures. Other responsibilities will include printer maintenance, loading printers, separating printed materials, covering for the main Computer Operator as needed, and any other tasks assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prints labels and packing lists using industrial OCE printers;
• Follow detailed procedures in order to maintain data integrity
• Decollating labels and packing lists;
• Responsible for quality control of all materials from the Print Room;
• Operates computer systems and associated peripheral equipment.
• Maintains operational logs;
• May fill-in for the main computer operator as needed;
• Maintenance on industrial printers;
• Completing any operational duties left over from 1nd shift

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Any additional task assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must have one year of proven Computer Operator or Print Operator experience in the workplace.

• Mechanical aptitude is a plus;
• Excellent attendance;
• Excellent work ethic;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision;
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
• At least HS diploma or equivalent.
