Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role based in Fort Plain, NY. The CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and monitor CNC machinery to produce parts to exact specifications and within required tolerances. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, adjusting machine settings, loading materials and tools, and performing basic programming or offset changes as needed. The role involves inspecting parts, performing in-process quality checks, and documenting measurements to ensure compliance with quality standards. The CNC Machinist will also maintain a clean, safe work area, perform routine machine maintenance, and collaborate with supervisors and team members to resolve production issues and meet scheduling goals.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Machine Operation and Machinery setup, including starting, stopping, and monitoring CNC equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong Machining and Milling skills, with the ability to work to tight tolerances and follow detailed blueprints or technical drawings.
• Experience with Quality Control, including part inspection, use of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges), and documentation of results.
• Knowledge of CNC processes, basic programming or offset adjustments, and troubleshooting minor machine issues.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and shop documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety and housekeeping standards.
• Previous CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; technical or vocational training in machining is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as required, and reliably support full-time on-site operations in Fort Plain, NY.
