Base pay range

$36.00/hr - $39.00/hr

MUST BE A US CITIZEN (ITAR REQUIREMENT). Support a Fortune 500 Aero-Defense Company as a Computer Numerical Control Machinist.

The candidate will set-up and operate a variety of machines such as lathes, mills, manual shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.

Responsibilities:

1. Interpret Blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
2. Determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of set-up.
3. Use a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
4. Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
5. Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
6. Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment and determine material, parts, and equipment required.
7. Operate machines that may be numerically controlled.
8. Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other procedures.

Basic Qualifications for Machinist 2:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating CNC machines in an industrial manufacturing setting
• Strong understanding of machining techniques and materials
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Preferred Qualifications for Machinist 2:

• Experience with reading and writing CNC programs
• Experience with wire EDM
• Experience with GD&T
