Qualifications

  • Computer Science majors OR CompTIA A+ or Server+ certifications.
  • Experience as a Data Center Technician, with hardware break-fix responsibilities.
  • Previous experience with Geek Squad computer repair or similar computer repair technician roles.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
  • 1 year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, stage, set up, and perform start-ups and shutdowns of IT equipment.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks to ensure proper grounding and cabling.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues and perform break-fix repairs.
  • Decommission hardware for system refreshes, including memory upgrades.
  • Monitor systems for equipment failures or errors.

As a Data Center Technician, you will be part of the IT department supporting critical infrastructure operations. Job Title: Computer Hardware Technician
Location: Ashburn, VA
Pay Range: $23/hour
Hours: M-F Core business hours - 8-5p

What's the Job?
  • Prepare, stage, set up, and perform start-ups and shutdowns of IT equipment, following specific instructions and safety protocols.
  • Conduct post‑execution quality checks to ensure proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues, quickly identifying causes and performing break‑fix repairs on faulty components.
  • Decommission hardware for system refreshes, including memory upgrades and OS rebuilds.
  • Monitor systems for equipment failures or errors and respond to program error messages effectively.
What's Needed?
