Job summary

Bctechpro is seeking a Computer Field Technician in Minnesota to perform hardware repairs and installations on laptops and desktops at customer sites. The role is 1099/per-call with pay starting at $35 per call and increasing with distance traveled.

Tickets are issued daily and technicians must log in each morning by 9 am to map routes and plan daily visits. Candidates should have hands-on experience replacing components, a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation for daily local

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware repairs and installations on laptops and desktops at customer sites.
• Log calls and map daily routes via the portal each morning by 9 am.
• Pick up parts daily from FedEx/UPS for the day’s tickets and return old parts.
• Coordinate service times with customers and complete tasks at residential and commercial sites.

Job description

This is a Computer Field Technician Position doing hardware repairs and installations on laptop and desktop units. To be successful in this position, you must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware.

Job Details:

This is a 1099/per call position

Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.

Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled

Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked

Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.

Call volume is variable but is usually 2-4 calls per day

You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.

You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.

You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.

You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.

The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.

You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)

You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.
