Job summary

KBR seeks a Computer Engineer to support advanced communications and cyber research. You will design, develop, integrate, and evaluate complex systems across hardware, software, networking, RF and embedded tech to create new capabilities and laboratory environments.

The role demands hands-on engineering with strong problem solving and the ability to rapidly learn new technologies, applying engineering principles to deliver innovative solutions in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4–8 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience designing, integrating, and evaluating complex technical systems.
• Experience with networking technologies, protocols, and distributed systems.
• Experience with hardware/software interfaces and system integration activities.
• Experience conducting technical research and evaluating emerging technologies.
• Experience using programming or scripting languages such as Python, C, C++, or similar languages.
• Ability to read technical documentation and rapidly learn unfamiliar technologies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop laboratory architectures supporting communications research, testing, and evaluation.
• Research and evaluate communications technologies, hardware platforms, networking technologies, and emerging capabilities.
• Integrate software-defined radios, communications hardware, embedded systems, sensors, networking equipment, and computing platforms into cohesive technical solutions.
• Develop system architectures, interface definitions, integration approaches, and technical implementation plans.
• Evaluate communications protocols, waveform implementations, system interoperability, and end-to-end system performance.
• Support laboratory development activities including hardware selection, capability planning, system design, and technical trade studies.
• Perform technical analysis of communications systems and supporting technologies.
• Support system testing, experimentation, validation, and technical assessments.
• Document technical findings and communicate results to engineering teams and government stakeholders.
