Taylor Engineering, Inc. seeks to hire a CAD Operator/Designer to work remotely or in any of our office locations (Philadelphia, PA; Jacksonville, Tampa, or Destin, FL).

This position supports CAD staff and engineers in producing engineering documents that adhere to company standards and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive engineering guidance and sketches to develop conceptual, permit, and construction documentation.
  • Develop and revise engineering documentation for coastal engineering projects, including navigable waterway dredging, shoreline protection, waterfront structures, beach nourishment, artificial reefs, and living shorelines.
  • Create 3D virtual models of engineering designs for documentation and quantity derivation.
  • Review civil engineering drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.

Requirements

  • Associate or technical school degree in design/drafting or related field.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical design experience.

  • Organized with multitasking ability.
  • Energetic, detail-oriented team player.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with basic understanding of geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and diagrams.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Sitting for extended periods.
  • Good vision (corrective lenses acceptable) for computer work.
  • Occasional field visits to observe and document construction sites.
