Job description

Jacksonville-based, locally owned and operated civil engineering firms are seeking a Civil CAD Designer / Engineering Technician. The role requires knowledge of civil engineering methods, techniques, procedures, land development processes, and experience with Autodesk Civil 3D. Familiarity with common civil engineering processes is essential.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Knowledge in civil design, land development, and utility projects
• Understanding of water, sewer, paving, and drainage systems
• Ability to read, interpret, and compile civil engineering design plans for submission to agencies such as the Florida Water Management Districts, FDOT, and DEP, under supervision
• Experience with Pond Modeling (ADICPR, Ponds, etc.) is preferred but not required

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Knowledge of civil engineering methods, techniques, and procedures
• Proficiency in computerized drafting, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and calculations
• Capacity to learn and apply policies and procedures
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to compose professional correspondence
• Following written and oral instructions accurately
• Establishing effective working relationships with colleagues, officials, and the public
