Job summary

Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is seeking a CAD Designer in Houston, TX to support day-to-day Engineering Department demands and deliver IFA & IFC deliverables. The CAD Designer reports to the Design Manager and works from 10543 Fisher Road, Houston, TX 77041.

The role focuses on developing 2D P&ID’s, 3D vessel and GA models, and 2D detail drawings for packaged equipment, with BOM generation and adherence to drafting standards.

Qualifications

Strong background in 3D process skid design and 2D fabrication drawings.
Minimum 7 years of professional design experience in process skid design and fabrication drawings.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with engineering and design teams.
Ability to work multiple tasks with limited supervision to meet due dates.
Understanding of drafting standards and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop 2D P&ID’s as required.
Develop 3D vessel models and 2D detail drawings from COMPASS reports and vendor cut sheets.
Develop 3D structural models and 2D detail drawings for packaged equipment and to support piping.
Develop 3D piping models based on P&ID’s.
Develop 3D GA models and 2D detail drawings for packaged equipment including line numbers, instrument tagging, trim details and coordinate dimensions.
Route interconnecting pipe above and below ground between skid packages and other site equipment.
Generate bills of materials with respect to the 3D piping models.
Utilize custom CUI menus, LISP routines and drafting standards.

The CAD Designer reports to the Design Manager and is responsible for IFA & IFC deliverables. This position will support day-to-day Engineering Department demands and select projects.

The purpose of this job description is to explain the responsibilities and requirements associated with the position. RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will have the following general/minimum responsibilities:

Develop 2D P&ID’s as required.
Develop 3D vessel models and 2D detail drawings from COMPRESS reports and vendor cut sheets.
Develop 3D structural models and 2D detail drawings for packaged equipment and to support piping.
Develop 3D piping models based on P&ID’s.
Develop 3D general arrangement (GA) models and 2D detail drawings for packaged equipment including line numbers, instrument tagging, trim details and coordinate dimensions.
Route interconnecting pipe (ICP) above and below ground between skid packages and other site equipment.
Generate bills of materials (BOM’s) with respect to the 3D piping models.
Utilize custom CUI menus, LISP routines and drafting standards.
