Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL is seeking a CT technologist to perform computed tomography imaging in accordance with department standards and hospital policies.

You will take on-call shifts, position patients, adjust exposure factors, and ensure image quality and patient safety, while educating patients about procedures and preparing contrast media as needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • ARRT RT certification and Florida state license as required by law.
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association (ECARD or equivalent).
  • ARRT CT certification within 1 year of hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Take on-call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
  • Position patient and perform imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyze images and identify image quality issues.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies; select exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implement safety standards and QC procedures on equipment.
  • Handle contrast media and medications within scope.
  • Monitor patient condition and respond to status changes.
  • Educate patient regarding procedures and equipment.

Summary

Provides computed tomography imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department. Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes. Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes images and identifies issues with the quality of images. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure if clinically appropriate. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

Required Work Experience: No previous CT experience required.One year of radiology technologist experience is preferred. Other Information: Registered as a Technologist (RT) by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as required by state law. Registered in computed tomography (CT) by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 year of hire date. Additional Education Info: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
