Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounts Payable — Compute to own the payment readiness and manage material exceptions across large-value supplier obligations. This hands-on leader will interpret complex terms, reconcile data, and drive scalable AP workflows in a hybrid SF Bay Area role.

You will coordinate across Compute Finance and Accounting teams, establish decision owners, and deliver improvements in controls, service, and capacity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in AP, payments, or related finance operations, with ownership of complex supplier obligations and material exceptions.

Responsibilities

• Own compute invoice-to-payment operating plan and lead material exceptions and supplier escalations.
• Translate executed contracts and amendments into invoice-validation, PO/change-order, approvals, control and payment requirements.
• Investigate discrepancies, supplier disputes, missing credits, and PO coverage gaps across ERP systems and partners.
• Lead a payment-readiness cadence across Compute Finance and Accounting teams; track owners, deadlines and blockers.
• Confirm readiness with owners before payment release; coordinate funding forecasts with Treasury.
• Design matching tolerances, validation rules and escalation thresholds with partners to preserve control.
• Map compute workload and assign work to teams; maintain backups and drive autonomy.
• Set a prioritized improvement roadmap and lead UAT and adoption of AI/payment improvements.
