Job summary

Colorado College in Colorado Springs invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry & Biochemistry with specialization in Computational Chemistry to begin August 2027. The position includes six teaching blocks per year, mentored research, and a strong emphasis on undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry by August 2027; ABDs considered.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field required by start; ABDs considered if Ph.D. before August 2027.
• Broad teaching experience in chemistry, including computational chemistry.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive pedagogy and undergraduate teaching.
• Postdoctoral experience and mentoring of undergraduate students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach General Chemistry (CH107, CH108) and foundational/upper-level courses; contribute to General Education Program.
• Maintain an active undergraduate research program; mentor students.
• Engage in department and college service; participate in inclusive teaching strategies.
• Develop new courses and advise students.
