Option Care Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Compounding Technician I to work in a clean room, assisting pharmacists with preparation and dispensing medications, and helping ensure safe, accurate compounding operations.

The role emphasizes customer service, attention to detail, and basic calculations; you will maintain logs, support regulatory compliance, and contribute to a collaborative pharmacy team.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Must be licensed or registered if required by the state.
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to perform basic and intermediate level mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies & procedures and state regulations.
  • Prepares medications accurately for compounding.
  • Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
  • Accurately labels and packages medications.
  • Participates in assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents.
  • Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
  • Inspects equipment and documents any failures or defects.
  • Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.

Job Description Summary

Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the compounding technician I works in a clean room compounding medication at least 50% of the time to help ensure safe, accurate, and smooth compounding operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies & procedures and state regulations.
  • Prepares medications accurately for compounding.
  • Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
  • Accurately labels and packages medications.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

Physical Demand Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Ability to carry at least 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications and Interests
  • Successful enrollment and completion of the OCH designated training course within 6 months of hire.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Salary and Benefits

Salary to be determined by applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment. Pay range is $19.16–$31.92.
