Job summary

Option Care is seeking a Compounding Technician I in Hudson, OH. Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, you will work in a clean room to compound medication at least 50% of the time, ensuring safe and accurate operations.

Responsibilities include assisting with preparation, labeling, calculations, and documentation; maintaining clean surfaces and logs; and contributing to medication safety and quality standards. Salary ranges are hourly and depend on education and experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to perform basic and intermediate level mathematical calculations.

Compounding Technician I

Job Description Summary

Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the Compounding Technician I works in a clean room compounding medication at least 50% of the time to ensure safe, accurate, and smooth compounding operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with company policies and procedures, state regulations, and standards.
  • Prepares medications to ensure accurate compounding.
  • Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
  • Accurately labels and packages medications.
  • Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication‑related incidents.
  • Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
  • Inspects equipment and documents any failures or defects.
  • Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of one year of pharmacy technician experience. Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to perform basic and intermediate level mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (document creation, formatting, editing, and basic functions).
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (workbook creation, formatting, basic functions).
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (slide creation, editing, and basic functions).
Physical Demand Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods, frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and ability to carry at least 30 lb.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests
  • Successful enrollment and completion of the company designated training course within 6 months of hire (if licensure or training is required by the state).
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Salary

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Pay range: $18.20 to $30.32 per hour.
