Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to perform sterile and non-sterile compounding in an ISO 5 environment, while adhering to USP 797/800 regulations. The role includes documentation, equipment operation, and maintaining a clean, compliant workspace, with a four-day, 10-hour shift schedule.

The ideal candidate has a year of technician experience, PTCB certification, and strong communication and organizational skills. Training on USP 797 standards will be provided as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year Pharmacy Technician experience required.
  • PTCB certification required.
  • Sterile compounding experience preferred; USP 797/800 knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Initial, periodic and validation training as required by USP 797.
  • General PC knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of dispensing pharmacy concepts and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, solve problems, and make decisions.
  • Ability and desire to assist team members.
  • Ability to work four-day, 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday with rotating day off.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform cleaning in sterile attire.
  • Adherence to strict personal hygiene requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medication in a compounding suite.
  • Complete daily documentation required under USP regulations.
  • Maintain the compounding suite.
  • Perform compounding functions in adherence to USP 797, USP 800 in ISO 5 environment.
  • Clean and disinfect clean rooms, ante rooms, hoods, and equipment.
  • Manage workload and workflow for the assigned area, shifting resources as needed.
  • Operate production equipment, change labels, clean printers, monitor equipment, and restock materials.
  • Inform appropriate teams of equipment malfunctions.
  • Serve as a first-line resource for team member questions and issues in coordination with the supervisor.
  • Promote a positive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certificate
  • Previous sterile compounding experience, USP 797 and USP 800 knowledge strongly preferred
  • Initial, periodic and validation training as required by USP 797
  • General PC knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within dispensing pharmacy
  • Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, solve problems, and make decisions
  • Ability and desire to assist team members
  • Ability to work four-day, 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday with rotating day off, and willingness to work a modified schedule as needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to perform physical cleaning activities while wearing a respirator, eye protection, and full sterile attire, including lifting 20-30 lbs., bending, stretching, reaching, kneeling, and climbing step ladders
  • Adherence to strict personal hygiene requirements while working
