Job summary

Mountville Mills, Inc. is seeking a manufacturing worker to assist in chemical preparation and material handling within a rubber production environment. You will follow recipes, measure and weigh materials, and handle bags and powders safely.

The role requires standing for 8 hours, lifting 50+ pounds, and working with powdered chemicals while wearing required PPE. The position offers shifts with differential pay and benefits as listed.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to accurately follow written recipes, instructions, and established procedures.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to stand and perform physical work for an 8-hour shift.
  • Comfortable working around powdered chemicals, dust, and rubber manufacturing materials.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures and required PPE when handling chemicals, materials, and equipment.
  • Lift bags and boxes from pallets and safely place them onto worktables or designated work areas.
  • Cut bags and safely transfer chemical contents into pans or other designated containers.
  • Accurately weigh and scoop chemicals according to established recipes and specifications.
  • Secure prepared plastic bags and place them into the appropriate designated containers.
  • Follow established procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of chemicals and materials.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work areas to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Follow recipes precisely to ensure the correct chemicals and weights are prepared for each production batch.
  • Verify materials and measurements before releasing prepared chemicals to production.
  • Immediately report incorrect materials, weights, damaged packaging, contamination, or other concerns that could affect product quality.
  • Maintain consistency and accuracy when preparing materials to help ensure finished rubber compounds meet customer specifications.
  • Work with Production and Quality personnel to address material or preparation concerns before they impact the customer.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to material handling, chemical preparation, and workplace organization.
  • Help identify recurring issues or process inefficiencies and communicate them to supervision.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas in a manner that supports reliable and efficient production.
Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Warehouse Production Supervisor.

Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to accurately follow written recipes, instructions, and established procedures.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to stand and perform physical work for an 8-hour shift.
  • Comfortable working around powdered chemicals, dust, and rubber manufacturing materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently measure materials accurately.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions

This position works in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment and requires prolonged standing, lifting, bending, and handling of materials.

Due to the production of rubber using powdered chemicals, employees should expect exposure to dust and conditions where clothing may become dirty during the normal course of work.

Steel-toe footwear and other required personal protective equipment must be worn.

Compensation & Schedule

Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour (+$0.50 Shift Differential for 2nd shift)

Schedule: 1st - 7:00 AM–3:00 PM; 2nd - 3:00 PM–11:00 PM

Overtime: As required based on production needs.
