Job summary

Carma Laboratories, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Compounder II to keep production lines stocked with materials and to support the compounding department. You will follow GMPs, operate equipment, maintain logs, and ensure accurate labeling and waste disposal.

The role requires attention to safety, documentation, and quick adaptation to a fast-paced environment. You will work onsite under the Production Supervisor, perform routine material handling, cleaning, calibration, and instrument checks,

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year in similar environment
  • Keep up with a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated Continuous Improvement completing the task indicated by the department lead
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic Math skills
  • Be able to follow SOP for cleaning and operation of the equipment
  • Be able to fill proper QA documentation
  • Ability to identify problems and communicate them to the supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong communication with your supervisor for daily activities
  • Know and follow safety procedures related to Hazcom, ergonomics, safe lifting, PPE requirements
  • Safely handle hot materials and transfer into various containers
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDPs). Fill out paperwork correctly and make notes for correct errors
  • Follow the plan and prioritize materials movement using drum lift or PIV equipment
  • Complete electronic material transactions with RF scanner
  • Review daily transactions in NAV (ERP) for accuracy
  • Review and complete all steps in a work order or recipe
  • Weight and add ingredients to a batch
  • Verify and label containers accurately - item number, lot number, date of expiration
  • Complete flux pump tank cleaning and sanitizing following work instructions and record status in cleaning log
  • Follow first expiry and first out (FEFO) to use old inventory first
  • Follow GMPs for the compounding department
  • Report quality issues immediately to supervisor
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor
  • Support supervisor to create and develop a culture that includes Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost
  • Load materials into oven and record in a log
  • Daily calibration and proper scale use. Move, log and daily scale check
  • Follow work instructions for tank cleaning and sanitizing; Record current production run and record status in cleaning log
  • Follow master cleaning schedule and document daily cleaning tasks
  • Load and unload dishwasher; follow work instructions for dishwasher
  • Fill, maintain and operate floor scrubber
  • Properly label drums by removing old labels, matching item and lot number, and placing label on drums
  • General housekeeping including spills, wipe down equipment and tools.

Position Summary

The Compounder II performs all tasks necessary to keep product available for the production lines.

Reports to:

Production Supervisor

Functional Responsibilities
  • Maintain strong communication with your supervisor for daily activities
  • Know and follow safety procedures related to Hazcom, ergonomics, safe lifting, PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) requirements, etc.
  • Safely handle hot materials and transfer into various containers.
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDPs). Fill out paperwork correctly and make notes for correct errors.
  • Follow the plan and prioritize materials movement using drum lift or PIV equipment (electronic pallet jack or forklift stacker)
  • Complete electronic material transactions with RF scanner
  • Review daily transactions in NAV (ERP) for accuracy
  • Review and complete all steps in a work order or recipe
  • Weight and add ingredients to a batch
  • Verify and label containers accurately - item number, lot number, date of expiration, etc.
  • Complete flux pump tank cleaning and sanitizing following work instructions and record status in cleaning log.
  • Follow first expiry and first out (FEFO) to use old inventory first. Report discrepancies and inventory quantity to keep inventory accurate.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for the compounding department
  • Report quality issues immediately to supervisor
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor
  • Support supervisor to create and develop a culture that includes de following principles; Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to:
    • Load materials into oven and record in a log
    • Daily calibration and proper scale use. Move, log and daily scale check.
    • Follow work instructions for tank cleaning and sanitizing; Record current production run and record status in cleaning log.
    • Follow master cleaning schedule and document daily cleaning tasks
    • Load and unload dishwasher; and follow work instructions for dishwasher.
    • Fill, maintain and operate floor scrubber
    • Properly label drums by removing old labels, matching item and lot number, and placing label on drums.
    • General housekeeping including but not limited to cleaning spills, wipe down equipment and tools.
Required Experience, Desired Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year in similar environment

Environmental Requirements
  • This position is required to be onsite.
  • Must be able to work in a changing temperature environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must wear N95 respirator and meet requirements (no facial hair)
  • Steel toe shoes are required.
