Job summary

  • Basic machining (manual mill, lathe, surface grinder).
  • Basic welding (TIG, MIG, and laser).
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot issues with extrusion processes across the Bayport site.
  • Manage, clean and care for extrusion tooling and ancillary equipment.
  • Train and support the operations team involved with extrusion processes.
  • Assist with cross-functional work on continuous improvement and safety projects.
  • Take corrective action on safety incidents, machine downtime, or quality incidents that deviate from customer requirements, with support from the engineering team.
  • Assist with Engineering/Operations projects as needed.
  • Proactively identify potential downtime, scrap or reliability issues and communicate them up to an appropriate level.
  • Continuously drive standardization of processes and methods.
  • Understand all required department documentation standards and their impact on the extrusion and compounding process. Ensure that documentation is properly completed, reviewed, and approved.

Job Description

The Composites Technician position within the Bayport Composites team is a high‑paced, team‑oriented role working closely with other technicians, our engineers, the quality team, operators, operations leads, and supervisors to drive continuous improvement, troubleshoot production equipment and processes, and provide hands‑on support and training for operators at our Bayport extrusion sites. The role focuses heavily on the extrusion processes and tooling, assisting in daily and weekly activities while supporting longer‑term projects. It is critical to hitting our daily, weekly, and period‑based goals while focusing on delivering excellence in extrusion.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot issues with extrusion processes across the Bayport site.

Pay Range

$27.80 - $40.30

Profit Sharing

In 2026 Andersen has set a profit‑sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
