Job summary

Aerotek in Mukilteo, WA is seeking an entry-level Composite Technician to support the manufacturing of advanced aerospace components using carbon fiber and prepregs. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for candidates with manufacturing experience or strong mechanical aptitude looking to grow within the aerospace industry.

You will perform hand layups, prepare molds, set up vacuum bagging, operate ovens and autoclaves, and inspect parts to ensure quality.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with hand/power tools preferred in manufacturing or technical setting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hand layup of composite materials on molds per engineering specifications.
  • Prepare tools, molds, and surfaces to ensure proper material adhesion and part quality.
  • Apply prepreg materials with accurate fiber orientation and ply placement.
  • Set up and execute vacuum bagging processes for curing operations.
  • Operate ovens and autoclaves in accordance with process and safety requirements.
  • Trim, drill, and finish parts to meet dimensional and quality standards.
  • Inspect components for defects and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.

Job Description

We are seeking individuals to support the manufacturing of advanced aerospace components using composite materials such as carbon fiber and prepregs. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for candidates with manufacturing experience or strong mechanical aptitude looking to grow within the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hand layup of composite materials on molds per engineering specifications
  • Prepare tools, molds, and surfaces to ensure proper material adhesion and part quality

Shift Times
  • 1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Thursday
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM, Monday - Thursday
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mukilteo, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
