Job summary

Precise Systems seeks a Composite Technician III to support NSWC Carderock in experimental design and trade-off studies. This in-person role requires ABYC Composite Boat Builder certification or equivalent hands-on lamination experience and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.

Precise Systems seeks a Composite Technician III to serve our NSWC Carderock customers with engineering/research design process in the area of experimental design and trade off studies. This role requires in-person support.

DUTIES
  • Perform activities by utilizing Government furnished materials and equipment ("machines" inclusive of instrumentation) to fabricate and fit models and components for testing.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • High school/vocational degree or GED
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • An American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Composite Boat Builder certification
  • OR
  • At least two years of demonstrated experience with hand lamination, vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM), pre-preg lamination in an industrial environment.
  • Experience planning, preparing, and executing composite manufacturing or repair projects with a team
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated experience performing laminations in a boatyard or shipyard environment
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated experience assembling or repairing composite hulls, bulkheads, or components using adhesive bonding and mechanical fastening; * and/or five (5) years of demonstrated experience fabrication and repair of cored composite components.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $40,850.59 to $61,271.90 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
