Qualifications

  • Perform mold preparation with detailed, multi-step chemical processes.
  • Operate hand tools and fixtures safely and efficiently.
  • Infusion: load, bag, and infuse fiberglass parts; learn RTM Lite and related processes.
  • Pattern, cut, and prep fiberglass materials; prepare resins/hardeners.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and inspections; document quality data.
  • Report discrepancies to management and participate in process improvement.

We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Composite Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the production of USV fiberglass components, using composite infusion processes. You will ensure industry leading quality is achieved through application of the engineered systems, contributing directly to the creation of high-quality, innovative USV’s. If you have excellent attention to detail, high commitment to safety and quality, enjoy working with teams and desire to produce the best premium composites. Note that we are looking for team members with a passion for safety, quality, teamwork, innovation and meeting the mission of our customers. We will train you on all the processes you will be performing.

  • Safety:
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of you and your team.
  • Ensure proper PPE, tools, equipment, and material handling equipment is used correctly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
  • Properly handle and store components and finished products to prevent damage.
  • Perform accurate and precise mold preparation processes. This is a critical first step in the infusion process and will require very detailed implementation of multi-step chemical processes.
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools (e.g., torque drivers, screwdrivers, rollers), and specialized fixtures and test equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Infusion:
  • Perform all the steps of loading, bagging and infusing fiberglass parts.
  • The Composite Technicians will be trained on the processes for all fiberglass parts that make up the USV, including hulls, decks, hull bottom structure, and small parts.
  • RTM Lite and other advanced processes will be learned and applied over time.
  • Pattern, Cut and prep fiberglass materials for the fiberglass components.
  • Prepare resins/hardeners for the infusion of components.
  • Quality / Continuous Improvement
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and visual inspections of molds, parts in infusion and finished products to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
  • Complete ISPC (In-Station Process Control) sheets to record critical process steps and capture critical to quality, critical to safety and productivity results
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, malfunctions, or quality issues to manager or manufacturing engineers.
  • Be a part of new model releases, new process development and continuous improvement as Blue Ops grows.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions aimed at improving processes, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Adhere to all company quality procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during infusion processes.
  • Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
  • Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.
