Job summary

Firehawk Aerospace seeks a Design Engineer with composite structures expertise to design and develop advanced composite components for munitions and propulsion systems. You will report to the Design Engineering Manager and collaborate across design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing teams.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in composite structural design, layup optimization, and manufacturing transfer from development to production. Travel may be required up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in aerospace/mechanical/materials engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in mechanical design with composite structures focus.
• 3+ years of CAD experience (CREO preferred).
• Experience with carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead/mentor engineers in design of rocket motors, pressure vessels, and airframe components (composites).
• Create/modify CAD models and drawings for parts and tooling.
• Develop composite layup schedules and fiber orientation strategies.
