Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering.
• 5+ years in composite structural analysis.
• Proficiency with FEA software (ANSYS/Abaqus/NASTRAN).
• Knowledge of carbon fiber, fiberglass and Kevlar.
• Understanding of laminate theory and failure criteria.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis of composite components using FEA tools (ANSYS/Abaqus/NASTRAN).
• Conduct stress analysis, failure prediction, and damage tolerance assessments for laminates and structures.
• Develop and validate layup schedules considering manufacturability.
• Support design reviews with analysis-driven recommendations on orientation and material selection.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure producible designs and address fabrication challenges.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams on structural requirements.
• Generate technical reports and design justification packages.
• Support testing programs including correlation of models with data.
